Steve Lukather – Ever Changing Times Frontiers Records AOR

Hablar de Steve Lukather es siempre hablar de un trabajo bien hecho en cada uno de los proyectos que lleva a cabo. A parte de los discos grabados con Toto y de sus discos en solitario, Steve Lukather es un músico de estudio muy valorado y cada año hay varios proyectos en los que participa siempre aportando gran calidad a esas grabaciones. Con todo este curriculum es normal esperar que este último disco en solitario tenga gran calidad y así es.

En este disco nos vamos a encontrar once cortes de gran calidad, que invitan a su escucha, serenos y muy ricos, melódicamente halando.

La prueba evidente es el primer tema del disco y que le da nombre “Ever Changing Times”. Es sin duda uno de los mejores temas del redondo y la mejor manera de empezar un trabajo ya que consigue abrir el apetito para el resto de las 10 piezas restantes.

En todo el trabajo hay una presencia importante de las guitarras pero ello no conlleva un “maltrato” del resto de instrumentos sino por el contrario un cuidado especial para hacer notar el aporte de cada uno de ellos en las piezas. Eso hace que la producción del trabajo sea exquisita, como cabía esperar.

Sin duda en varios de los cortes podemos encontrar aires que nos recuerdan claramente a Toto pero sin duda encontramos toques mucho más personales y quizás ganas de modernizar el género que son de agradecer. También encontraremos equilibrios realmente buenos entre guitarras más saturadas y rockeras y otras más limpias y melódicas. Y por supuesto debemos prestar especial atención a los solos que encontramos a lo largo de este gran trabajo.

Sin duda estamos ante un gran trabajo realizado por un mejor músico.
